We truly are in the one of the sporting districts in Auckland. Whether you like to watch sports or participate in recreational activities yourself, there is plenty on offer.
West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre – Located right in the heart of Henderson, they have something to enjoy for everyone, from a hydroslide, diving pool and wave pool through to a steam room, sauna, hydrotherapy pool and 50m lap pool. In addition to that the centre is offers a gym and fitness classes.
Henderson Bowling Club – Whether you are new to bowls or an experienced bowler, this is the perfect place for everyone interested in the sport of lawn bowls. The Club has three natural greens and one high quality artificial playing surface. The club is situated next to the West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre.
Henderson Croquet Club – Open for experienced and new members, the club offers 3 lawns to play on. The club is now in winter hours and play Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting at 12.45pm.. All are welcome…. Free introductory sessions given. The club is situated next to the West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre.
Netball Waitakere – Situated at Te Pai Place, they cater for over 500 Winter League teams and 100 Summer League teams in the West Auckland and Waitakere region. There are competitions and tournaments for all age classes and they are on offer throughout the year. In addition, they offer classes for players, coaches, managers and umpires.
The Trusts Arena – Located along Central Park Drive, the Trust Arena is an icon for West Auckland and a hub for the community. They host a range of events such as conventions, trade shows, music concerts and local, national and international sporting events. It supports a variety of clubs such as the Northern Mystics, Waitakere City Athletic Club and the Waitakere Rugby Club.
Waitakere City Athletic Club – This is one of the largest athletics clubs in Auckland. The club aims to provide year-round coaching, training and competition to athletes in almost every age-group and to encourage all children to have fun, to develop athletics skills, and participate safely in the spirit of fair play. The club is located at the fields behind The Trusts Arena.
Waitakere Rugby Club – Situated along Central Park Drive, the rugby fields are located next to The Trusts Arena. The club offers training and competition for all age-ranges. The fields are even frequently used by the All Blacks for training.
